Food and Wine

Casa Andromeda has its own wine-bar available for guests to sample special, and often local, Spanish wines. This year we continue featuring Culebron wines from a small Bodega in the Pinoso region, in the mountains south-west of Alicante.

Following a pioneering visit from a private wine-club, in May, we may extend our offering of local wines. For more information please contact us and let us know your interests in wine or to ask for a copy of the current wine list in the villa.

As regards restaurants and bars, Javea has a lot to offer for every taste and every budget. Here is a small selection but please contact us if you would like more information or are looking for anything in particular.

Near the villa:

Le Gourmandis a French inspired restaurant with gorgeous food, a few minutes walk down the hill from Casa Andromeda. It is arguably the best restaurant in the area, run by a delightful couple; Benjamin and Lydie. Dining is indoor and outdoor in lovely surroundings. Throughout most of the year they have special jazz nights once a month.

The Montgo Restaurantis a much larger restaurant, just a few minutes closer to Javea on the right side of the main road, offering a variety of tasty meals and a great take-away paella to suit those wanting the comfort of dining ‘at home’ without having to cook.

Los Almendrosis on the opposite side of the road to The Montgo restaurant, also a large and friendly restaurant, ideal for families but also for couples or groups.

Chalet Suizois on the same side of the road as Los Almendros, in the same area. This is a Swiss style, intimate little restaurant run by a Swiss chef and his Spanish wife. Good food here too.

In town and by the beach:

La Toscais one of our absolute favourites. Small and intimate, although it also caters for groups (for example wine-clubs) in a separate area to the main restaurant. The service is fabulous and the food of a very high standard and a very good and extensive wine list. Ferran knows his wines and even if you dine there when they have not got a special wine evening on, he will recommend delicious wines for you to try.

Atalayais our favourite for drinks in the late afternoon and evening, with gorgeous sofas to lounge on and spectacular panoramic sea and mountain views. Very stylish and elevated above the other restaurants at promenade level, it also profits from a slight and welcome breeze in the heat of the afternoon and evening. The food is of a very high standard and the wine and cocktail lists are a dream.

La Siestais a special permanent, walled beach bar, literally on the pebbly beach between the port area and the Arenal. Gorgeous for any time casual drinks or dining.

Lungo Mareis, in our opinion, the best restaurant for pizzas. Located on the Arenal beach promenade, it is the ideal family restaurant, serving gorgeous and generous pizzas and pasta. Quick and friendly service in a fun restaurant.

La Reboticais the most enjoyable genuine Spanish tapas restaurant we have found yet. Situated in the centre of Javea Old Tow, in one of the narrow streets leading to the church in the centre, La Rebotica is always busy and popular with all nationalities. In the summer half the tables are outside in the street (no cars allowed) and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food and wine are tapas style and delicious at very affordable prices. But it is hugely popular, so book in advance if you want dinner at a specific time.
